On Friday, South African hitter David Miller turns 33 years old.
South Africa batsman David Miller celebrated his birthday one day early on Thursday at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, when he helped South Africa pull off a robbery over India in the opening T20I of the five-match series. The Proteas won by seven wickets with five balls to spare thanks to the left-handed batter’s 64 runs. Hardik Pandya, David Miller’s IPL captain, wished the Proteas player a happy birthday on Friday.
“Happy birthday my Millie but IPL is over,” Hardik wrote beside a photo of David Miller on his Instagram account.
David Miller made 481 runs in 16 games for Gujarat Titans in the just-concluded IPL, and he was a key player in the IPL-winning club.
The left-handed hitter continued his good form in the first T20I against South Africa, scoring 64 runs off 31 balls, including four fours and five sixes, to help South Africa chase down 212 runs.
For the fourth wicket, he and Rassie van der Dussen put on an unbroken stand of 131 runs.
With this victory, South Africa has taken a 1-0 lead in the five-match series, with the second T20I scheduled for Cuttack on Sunday.
