IPL 2022: Rinku Singh stars vs RR

MUMBAI: Kolkata Knight Riders captain Shreyas Iyer praised Rinku Singh on Monday for his “amazing” coolness under duress, describing him as an asset to the club.

Rinku Singh and Nitish Rana Partnership

Rinku Singh hit an unbeaten 42 from 23 balls. Including six boundaries and a six, as he and Nitish Rana (48 not out) easily chased down a 153-run mark for a seven-wicket win.

The opening position is one area where KKR has suffered, and Shreyas acknowledged they will have to fix it.

“Building that collaboration with Nitish Rana in that situation is something we should be proud of. He is a fantastic asset for the franchise’s future.”

“He doesn’t appear to be a novice to the team because of the way he has given starts from the first game.”

Shreyas also lauded his bowlers, particularly Umesh Yadav (1/24) and Sunil Narine (0/19), for always delivering for KKR.

“It was exactly the start we wanted right from the powerplay. When our bowlers conceded just 36 runs and took a wicket,” he remarked.

“We’ve been talking about Umesh since the beginning. He’s picked up his pace and bowls those long lengths, so all you have to do as a captain is hand him the ball.

Sanju Samson Injury Concern

In addition, Samson stated that he had had a niggle in the last few games.
However, I’m doing good, and my back is fine. It took a tremendous amount of effort on the field.
