Will Sanju Samson Get a Chance in the Second Twenty20 International between India and the West Indies?
West Indies and India will play the second T20I of the five-match series on Monday.
After winning the first T20I of the five-match series, Team India will look to keep up their winning streak against the West Indies in the second game on Monday. Sanju Samson playing in the middle for India would be fun to watch, but it now seems unlikely because head coach Rahul Dravid is not one who likes making significant changes, especially when the team is winning. It will be intriguing to see if the team decides to continue the experiment or if they have someone else in mind to open alongside captain Rohit after Suryakumar Yadav began the batting in the first T20I.
This is who we think India should start in the second T20I.
Rohit Sharma: The captain, Rohit Sharma, played exceptionally well in the first T20I, getting 64 runs off just 44 balls. He now hopes to continue making efforts of this nature.
Suryakumar Yadav: It will be decided whether or not the batter starts the following game as the opener after he produced a 24-run knock despite having some hits and some misses.
Shreyas Iyer: Iyer struggled in the first T20I, being out for a duck despite performing well in the ODI series. It will be interesting to see if he keeps going or if Sanju Samson steps in to fill his shoes.
Rishabh Pant: The left-hander failed to get going after just scoring 14 points. In the T20I format, he is facing increased pressure and really needs a large score.
Hardik Pandya: The all-around player had a mediocre performance. This year’s performance indicates that he should not be disregarded. He is one of the team’s X-factors going into the T20 World Cup.
Dinesh Karthik: In the first T20I, the batsman did a fantastic job of putting the game away for India by scoring 41 runs off just 19 balls.
Ravindra Jadeja: The versatile player, Ravindra Jadeja, was ruled unfit for the ODI series against the West Indies. In the first T20I, he did, however, come back, scoring 16 runs and taking one wicket.
Ravichandran Ashwin: In the first T20I, off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin took two wickets while bowling rapidly and without allowing any runs. He was a great asset with the bat as well.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar: The seamer only bowled two overs in the opening game, giving up 11 runs and claiming one wicket. Since he has been in excellent form this season, the focus will primarily be on his performance in the future games.
Arshdeep Singh: Despite absorbing a couple of hard smashes from Kyle Mayers in the first T20I, the seamer shown exceptional tenacity in keeping his composure. He finally comes back with a set of numbers from 2 to 24.
Ravi Bishnoi: So in the first game, the spinner, Ravi Bishnoi, took two wickets and was efficient. The spinner met or beyond the high standards Rohit had for him.
