Will Deepak Hooda play in India’s third Twenty20 international game against the West Indies?
On Tuesday at 9:30 IST, the third Twenty20 International in the five-match series between India and the West Indies will begin.
West Indies, who have been dominating in the 20-over format this year, defeated Team India by five wickets in the second T20I at Warner Park in Basseterre, St. Kitts, snapping their winning streak. Obed McCoy was the standout performance for the West Indies. He took six wickets and restricted Team India to a meager 138 total. With four balls left and five wickets in hand, West Indies then reacted by reaching their goal. So in the third T2OI, Deepak Hooda might have a chance to restore his place in the starting XI. The striker rose to fame with his century and a 47-run outburst off 29 balls against Ireland in the two-match series.
This is who we think India should start within the third T20I.
Rohit Sharma: The Indian skipper, Rohit Sharma, has been performing brilliantly in this series. He got 64 runs off just 44 balls in the first T20I, but in the second game, he was dismissed for a duck. Despite all of these problems, Rohit remains one of the most dependable batters for the visitors.
Suryakumar Yadav: The talented hitter for Team India performed only sporadically in the opening two games. The third T20I will begin soon, so it would be interesting to watch if India decides to start him.
Shreyas Iyer: After getting taken off for a duck in the first T20I, Iyer managed just 10 runs off of 11 balls. It will be interesting to see whether management gives Deepak Hooda a chance or continues with him.
Rishabh Pant: The wicketkeeper-batter was out in the first T20I for 14, but in the second match, he hit 24 runs off just 12 balls. He might have a chance to prove himself and play an important innings in the third T20I.
Hardik Pandya: Nobody should rule out Hardik Pandya despite his lackluster play in the first two games. The all-rounder has produced outstanding numbers in the shortest format this year and has been in fantastic shape.
Dinesh Karthik: Despite getting out in the second T20I with just seven runs. This year, Dinesh Karthik has been in devastating form, and Team India can depend on him without a doubt.
Ravindra Jadeja: was ruled unfit for the ODI series against the West Indies. Jadeja is an all-around player. In the first T20I, he did however come back, scoring 16 runs and taking one wicket, and in the second T20I, he added another 27 runs and a wicket.
Ravichandran Ashwin: The off-spinner took one wicket in the second T20I after taking two wickets in the first T20I. He allowed 32 runs throughout the course of his entire four-over session. Ashwin is still a strong player to take into consideration even though he only managed to score 10 runs with the bat.
